LIVEEthereum is currently leading the market with strong gains that pushed the asset to a multi week high. A major contributor to this positive sentiment appears to be significant accumulation by large investors. BitMEX co founder Arthur Hayes is among those moving back into the market, having spent roughly 2.5 million dollars to acquire 1,293 ETH.
This move is particularly interesting given his recent trading record. Hayes sold a large stash of Ethereum in mid June for 10 million dollars, which resulted in a loss of over 600,000 dollars. He originally sold when prices were below 1,700 dollars, but he is now buying back in at prices above 1,900 dollars.
Beyond Hayes, other major players are making moves to secure more Ethereum. On chain data shows three new wallets recently withdrew nearly 58 million dollars in ETH from Coinbase Prime. Meanwhile, Abraxas Capital appears to be rotating its portfolio by depositing 40 million dollars of Bitcoin into Kraken to swap into Ethereum.
Market participants are watching these whale movements closely as Ethereum continues to outperform other major assets. Whether this accumulation signals a sustained rally or another round of volatility remains to be seen.
