Balaji's Network School Heads to Kazakhstan

Balaji Srinivasan and his Network School project are packing their bags for Central Asia. The community project was planning to set up its main hub in Malaysia at Forest City. However, that plan hit a major roadblock when Malaysian authorities revoked the business licence for the project, with the cancellation set to take effect on July 22, 2026.

Instead of slowing down, the team quickly found a new home. They are now shifting their focus to Kazakhstan to build out their experimental tech society. The project aims to bring digital nomads and crypto enthusiasts together in a physical space, functioning much like a modern tech village.

Traders and community members are watching closely to see how this sudden geographical pivot affects the timeline of the project. Kazakhstan has been warming up to technology initiatives, making it an interesting backdrop for the next phase of the Network School.
