LIVEPlans to bridge the gap between Base and Ethereum development teams have hit a wall. Derek Chiang from Ethlabs shared that talks aimed at bringing together the Base led EIP 8130 and Ethereum's EIP 8141 Frame Transactions wrapped up last week without an agreement. Both groups will now pursue their own native account abstraction paths.
Account abstraction is a major focus for developers because it makes crypto wallets easier and safer to use. Instead of dealing with complex seed phrases and gas fees, users get features like social recovery and automated payments. Having two different standards could create extra work for builders who want to launch applications across multiple networks.
Both proposals now sit on the official Ethereum Improvement Proposal registry as separate tracks. Traders and developers should watch to see how application teams choose between the two standards. The outcome might shape how users interact with layer two networks and mainnet Ethereum in the future.
