LIVEBinance has seen its Bitcoin reserves swell to more than 693,000 BTC. This total marks a two year high for the exchange and represents about 30 percent of the Bitcoin held across all major trading platforms. Since late April, the exchange has added 77,000 BTC to its balance sheet.
Market observers are looking closely at what this increase means for price action. A rise in exchange reserves often suggests that users are moving their assets to wallets controlled by the exchange, which is frequently a precursor to selling. With a higher supply sitting on the platform, the risk of increased selling pressure grows.
Part of this shift is tied to the exchange moving assets into its Secure Asset Fund for Users. The platform recently committed to holding one billion dollars in this fund to protect its users. Traders are now watching to see if this large reserve leads to significant outflows or if it acts as a signal of long term confidence in the platform infrastructure.
