LIVEA long term investor recently moved 1,260 BTC that had been sitting untouched for over a decade. The coins were first acquired in July 2014 when the price of Bitcoin was just $652. With current market prices, this holding has jumped from roughly $820,000 to over $100 million. The movement occurred at block 965770 and follows a pattern of other ancient wallets becoming active again after years of dormancy.
While this transfer is large, it does not confirm that the owner is selling. Whales often move funds to new storage addresses or custody services for security reasons. Even so, the sheer size of these holdings draws attention from the market because long term owners have the option to take profits at any time. This specific whale held through several major industry crashes and cycles to reach this level of return.
Separately, another entity recently moved 600 BTC that were mined back in 2010. Some observers initially wondered if these coins were linked to Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto, but analysts found no connection. These events highlight how much early supply remains in the hands of long term holders. Traders will continue to watch for further transfers, as large moves can signal potential changes in market sentiment or selling pressure.
