LIVEBitwise is shutting down its Dogecoin exchange traded fund, known by the ticker BWOW, less than ten months after its launch. Trading for the fund will officially end on October 14, and remaining investors will receive cash payouts on October 22 based on the asset value from the previous day. Holders do not need to take any action to receive their funds.
The fund opened on November 25, 2025, with an annual fee of 0.34 percent, making it the cheapest among the three US spot Dogecoin products at the time. Despite the low cost, the product failed to attract enough capital to justify keeping it listed. Data shows that the fund held roughly $721,820 at the time of closure, representing a tiny fraction of the total capital spread across the remaining crypto products in this category.
Two other similar products from Grayscale and 21Shares remain active on the market, meaning this closure is an isolated exit rather than the end of the category entirely. Investors should watch to see if the remaining funds can sustain enough interest to stay open as overall market conditions shift and meme coin prices fluctuate.
