LIVEBreez has announced a partnership with Turnkey to help developers add non custodial Bitcoin wallets to their applications. This collaboration targets mainstream apps that operate from a central backend server. Traditionally, these apps had to hold user keys to function, which forced them to act as financial custodians with heavy regulatory and security burdens.
This new integration uses secure enclaves to store keys in a way that keeps them inaccessible to the app servers, Breez, and Turnkey itself. The system functions by having the user authorize transactions through a passkey, while the backend prepares the payment. This allows the application to manage thousands of wallets without ever taking control of the actual funds.
For users, the experience remains familiar since there are no seed phrases to manage or complex new interfaces to learn. The app requests a signature, the user approves it, and the transaction proceeds. This removes the risk of a company losing customer funds during a server breach.
This setup is a major win for exchanges, neobanks, and fintech services that want to offer Bitcoin or stablecoin features without the risks of traditional custody. By lowering these barriers, the partnership may accelerate the adoption of non custodial Bitcoin across popular consumer apps.
