Cardano Whales Accumulate Ahead of van Rossem Hard Fork

Cardano is seeing a shift in ownership as large holders ramp up their positions. Data shows that wallets holding between 100,000 and 100 million ADA have reached their highest collective balance since February 2023. While these major investors accumulate, smaller retail accounts have slightly reduced their holdings over the last few months.

Optimism is building around the upcoming van Rossem hard fork, which is set to launch this Saturday. This upgrade brings fresh functionality to Plutus and is designed to improve overall network efficiency and developer tools. With governance approval now finalized, the market is looking to see if these technical improvements can spark a sustained price recovery.

Financial data supports this growing interest. Open Interest in Cardano futures has climbed to roughly $445 million this week, signaling that fresh capital is entering the market. Additionally, the funding rate for ADA has flipped positive, suggesting that traders are becoming more bullish on the short term outlook.

Despite the positive signs, ADA still faces technical challenges. The price is currently trading below key moving averages, including the 50 day EMA at $0.179. Traders will be watching to see if the asset can clear the $0.208 resistance level. If buying pressure fails to hold, support at $0.150 will be the next major floor to monitor.
