Coinbase CEO Says AI Agents Will Outpace Human Crypto Trades

Coinbase is building new financial tools for artificial intelligence agents. Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong shared that bots will likely surpass human traders in the near future. To support this shift, the company is developing Agentic Finance.

This new setup uses the x402 protocol alongside the Base network and USD Coin payment rails. Armstrong believes that autonomous programs need fast and reliable digital money to pay for services, data, and goods without human delay.

Crypto assets fit this need because code can send and receive funds instantly without bank accounts or paperwork. Traders should watch for more updates on AI payment tools as major exchanges start building for machine users.
