Ethereum Foundation Adds Security Expert Pascal Caversaccio to Board

The Ethereum Foundation just welcomed Pascal Caversaccio, widely known as pc, as its newest board member. He joins founder Vitalik Buterin, president Aya Miyaguchi, and Swiss counsel Patrick Storchenegger to form a four person leadership team. Caversaccio brings years of experience in smart contract security and privacy work to the group, having co founded SEAL 911, a rapid response team that helps crypto protocols recover from hacks and exploits.

This appointment comes at a crucial time for the network. Ether has struggled on the price charts, down about 50 percent over the past year and trading near $1,900. The leadership team also went through a turbulent stretch recently, which included staff budget cuts and a step back by Vitalik Buterin from day to day decisions. Foundation president Aya Miyaguchi welcomed Caversaccio on social media, praising his background in security and his alignment with the core values of the project.

Caversaccio will serve a one year unpaid term, matching the setup of his fellow board members.
