Police in Seoul have arrested three suspects connected to a fraudulent XRP staking platform that stole around 3.4 million tokens from 71 investors. The stolen funds total about 12.3 billion won, which equals roughly 19 million dollars at current exchange rates. Authorities from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency cyber investigation unit made the arrests following complaints from victims.

The scammers lured investors by promising guaranteed monthly returns on their virtual asset deposits. Instead of generating profits, the platform simply took the deposited tokens and cut off victim access. This incident highlights the ongoing risks in the digital asset sector where bad actors use high yield promises to trick users.

Traders need to remain cautious about platforms offering unrealistic returns, especially through unofficial staking services. Always verify the legitimacy of any project before handing over funds. Security experts recommend keeping assets in trusted personal wallets rather than chasing too good to be true profits.
