Alphabet has officially reported a $94 billion holding in SpaceX stock. This stake represents about 6% of the company founded by Elon Musk. The disclosure appeared in the latest quarterly filing from the tech giant as SpaceX shares experience a period of downward price pressure.

The investment details show that $80 billion of these shares face short term selling restrictions. Another $14.1 billion in stock remains restricted until the third quarter of 2027. SpaceX hit the public market in June with a strong start, but the stock price has fallen 26% over the last month to reach $115 per share.

This connection between the two firms goes beyond simple stock ownership. Reports suggest Google and SpaceX have discussed using rocket technology to build orbital data centers. As Google pushes further into AI development, these space based infrastructure projects may become a priority for their long term hardware strategy.

Investors remain cautious as Alphabet stock dipped 6% following the earnings release. While cloud revenue grew by 82% compared to last year, the company increased its capital expenditure forecast to over $195 billion. Market watchers are now monitoring how these heavy investments in AI and space infrastructure will impact Google's bottom line in the coming years.
