Hunter Biden's LAPTOP Memecoin Crashes 99% After Bot Attack

The LAPTOP memecoin hit a rocky start on the Base network this week. After briefly climbing above $300, the token dropped more than 99 percent within an hour. The project team attributed this sharp decline to aggressive sniper bots that targeted the pool as soon as trading began at $0.05. Because the initial liquidity was too thin to handle the sudden demand, the price suffered a quick and brutal correction.

Blockchain data shows that the crash left many retail traders in the red. Analytics firm Bubblemaps reported that roughly 80 percent of traders lost money on the launch, with some individual wallets down as much as one million dollars. Many of the largest holders identified were brand new wallets created on the same day the token launched, suggesting a high level of activity from automated accounts.

Looking ahead, the team is attempting to stabilize the situation by adding 4 million tokens to Aerodrome pools to incentivize better liquidity. They also highlighted several measures meant to build trust, including a Hacken audit and the fact that founder tokens are locked for six months. Despite the suspension of their social media account on X, the team claims they remain committed to the project while the token continues to trade at a fraction of its opening high.
