Pi Network Rolls Out Protocol 26 As PI Price Pops

Pi Network is moving closer to its final Version 27 update, starting the rollout of Protocol 26 this week. Node operators now have until August 11 to complete the update and stay connected to the Mainnet. The core team stated that this migration usually takes less than five minutes, though operators should avoid updating all nodes at the same time.

This marks the ninth protocol upgrade for the network in recent months, with Protocol 27 expected to finish the current sequence. These updates aim to bring the Mainnet up to date with new features. Traders responded positively to the news, pushing the PI price up by 6.66% to $0.0822 over a 24 hour period and outperforming the broader crypto market.

Despite the short term price bump, broader momentum remains fragile. PI is down nearly 12% over the past week and roughly 29% over the last month. Continuous token unlocks of about 4.25 million PI daily continue to create heavy supply pressure.
