Scott Kelley, a former federal law enforcement officer in Massachusetts, pleaded guilty this week to stealing over $330,000 from elderly individuals. Kelley served as a team leader for the Boston Mail Fraud Unit from 2015 to 2022, where he was tasked with investigating scams targeting seniors.

Prosecutors stated that Kelley intercepted nearly 2,000 packages containing cash intended for victim recovery efforts. Instead of returning the funds, he spent the money on Caribbean cruises, escorts, and home renovations. He even took $7,000 from an evidence locker and tried to frame a coworker for the theft.

The case involved seven victims with an average age of 75. Kelley admitted to 44 charges, including wire fraud, mail theft, and money laundering. He is now awaiting sentencing for his actions.
