Robinhood surprised Wall Street by pulling in $100 million in crypto transaction revenue for the second quarter. Analysts expected around $86.6 million. Even though this figure represents a 38 percent drop compared to the same period last year, crypto trading held up much better than most experts predicted during a slower quarter for digital assets.

The overall earnings report showed strong growth across the entire platform. Robinhood posted record quarterly revenue of $1.31 billion, up 32 percent from last year, driven by strong gains in options, equities, and prediction markets. Event contracts brought in $156 million, showing massive growth and helping offset the dip in digital asset trading.

Total crypto trading volume reached $40 billion, with the recently acquired Bitstamp exchange contributing $22 billion. Even with softer transaction fees, Robinhood continues to expand its crypto footprint. The company recently launched Robinhood Chain, rolled out decentralized lending, and brought stock tokens to international users.

Traders will now watch to see if crypto activity picks up alongside broader market recoveries. With new products like the Layer 2 network and international expansions rolling out, Robinhood is positioning its platform for the next wave of digital asset adoption while continuing to grow its diverse financial services.
