SEC Enforcement Leader Sam Waldon Steps Down After 14 Years

Securities and Exchange Commission Principal Deputy Director of Enforcement Sam Waldon is leaving the agency on July 31, 2026. After more than 14 years at the SEC, Waldon is stepping down from his post. He held several key leadership roles during his tenure, including serving as Acting Director of Enforcement twice between 2025 and 2026.

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins praised Waldon for his long service and wise counsel over the years. Waldon also shared his gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside agency colleagues through challenging circumstances, thanking leadership for their support.
