SpaceX Delays Starship Flight 13 Due to Poor Weather

SpaceX is hitting the pause button on the thirteenth flight test of its Starship rocket. Originally set for Thursday, the launch is now scheduled for Friday, July 24, at 5:45 p.m. CT. The delay comes after weather conditions in South Texas made it impossible for ground cameras to capture vital data on the rocket's heat shield during its ascent.

The project faces pressure following a previous delay on July 16, when several Raptor engines failed to fire correctly. Investors are watching closely as the company prepares to share its first quarterly financial report as a public entity on August 4. Shares of SPCX dipped 1.73% in after hours trading following the announcement, reflecting broader market nervousness around the company's performance.

Friday's test is a big moment for the program. Beyond testing the heat shield, the mission aims to complete stage separation, execute a boostback burn, and deploy 20 Starlink V3 satellites. Six of these satellites are equipped with specialized cameras to monitor how the heat shield tiles hold up during the intense stress of flight.
