LIVECrypto users need to stay extra careful right now. Both Trezor and BitBox recently issued public warnings about fake security alerts landing in user inboxes. According to the companies, hackers managed to access customer contact details through a third party email service provider.
BitBox explained that several Bitcoin focused businesses appear to have been targeted by the exact same shared newsletter provider. Meanwhile, Trezor officially confirmed a direct breach at its own email marketing service. Attackers are using this stolen data to send convincing messages asking users to download fake updates or enter their recovery phrases.
Hardware wallets keep funds safe by staying offline, but phishing attacks target the human element instead of the device. Security teams advise everyone to ignore urgent emails asking for seed phrases or security keys. Always check official channels before clicking any links related to your crypto storage.
