XRP Ledger Clears Path for New Lending Features

The XRP Ledger successfully activated the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment this week. This update went live on September 11, bringing a collection of maintenance fixes to the network. These changes address specific transaction paths and edge cases, improving how the ledger handles Automated Market Makers, permissioned trading, and Check transactions.

While this update acts as a foundation for a new lending protocol, it does not mean all new features are active yet. Several other proposed amendments, including those for the Lending Protocol and Single Asset Vaults, remain disabled. For now, the network is focused on ensuring that existing transaction types run more reliably and avoid previous error exceptions.

This activation creates an important milestone for server operators. Because the amendment is now an official network rule, any business running its own infrastructure must update their software to the latest version. Failure to do so can result in a server becoming amendment blocked, meaning it can no longer process transactions or participate in the network consensus process.

Traders and users should note that most daily activity will be handled by exchanges and wallet providers who manage these updates. However, those running their own nodes need to verify they are on the latest release to keep their systems compatible with the current ledger rules.
