Zamanat Launches $100 Million Tokenized Credit Fund for SMEs
Zamanat is using tokenization to bridge the massive financing gap for small businesses across the GCC region.
coinbeat.newsZamanat has officially launched a new tokenized private credit fund with a target size of up to 100 million dollars. The initiative aims to support small and medium enterprises in the GCC, a sector currently facing a 250 billion dollar financing gap. While these businesses are essential for regional economic growth, only 11 percent of them currently have access to traditional bank loans.
The fund is registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre and is regulated by the DFSA. It will issue interests as ZM1 Investment Tokens on the ZIGChain network. This approach allows the company to use blockchain technology to manage ownership and settlement within a secure and compliant framework for professional investors.
This project serves as a test for bringing regional private credit into digital markets. By using a tokenized structure, the fund seeks to create a more efficient connection between institutional capital and growing companies that are often ignored by traditional banks. This move aligns with broader national goals in Saudi Arabia and the UAE to increase access to alternative financing.
Moving forward, Zamanat plans to continue building a market for digital assets that follow Shariah principles. With support from major institutional administrators like Apex Group, the firm is preparing a pipeline of future projects across real estate and other asset classes. Investors should watch how this model performs as it attempts to bring traditional institutional finance into the digital age.
